My Approach
I’ve guided many people through difficult life transitions and exciting personal growth and would like to help you, too. I have a deep toolkit. My approach is tailored to your unique needs. I’m professional, easy to talk to, compassionate and down-to-earth. I bring a lifetime of experience. I’ve been there myself. I can light the way to help you discover what is authentic and right for you.
I draw from well-proven methods and in-depth training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy, Jungian thought, mindfulness meditation, interpersonal neurobiology and mind-body interventions.
I’m also a certified couples and sex therapist trained and supervised by Walter Bracklemans MD, originator of Inter-analytic Couples Therapy and founder of the American Association of Couples and Sex Therapists (AACAST). I practice couples and sex therapy as a combined discipline. I teach the Dialog of Intimacy: how to empathetically connect with each others inner experience and create a deeper bond of closeness, intimacy and understanding. I also provide sex education and help couples develop erotic intelligence.
I have a lifelong commitment to learning and personal growth. My approach with COUPLES is informed by prominent leaders in couples treatment including: Ester Perel (Mating In Captivity), Sue Johnson (Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy), John Gottman (The 7 Principles for Making Marriage Work), David Snarch (Passionate Marriage: Keeping Love and Intimacy Alive in Committed Relationships), (Ellen Bader (Tell Me No Lies: How to Stop Lying to Yourself and Your Partner in the 4 Stages of Marriage), Charles and Caroline Muir (Tantra:The Art of Conscious Loving) Stan Tatkin (Wired for Love) and Jack Rosenberg (The Intimate Couple).
